Our partners have diverse interactions with us. It begins with sharing knowledge of hands-on natural resources professionals with our youth and volunteers, and continues with offering resource materials, enrichment ideas as well as service-learning experiences. For many of our youth, it is their first interaction with adults outside of their families and schools.

Marion-Polk Food Share Youth Farm​

The Marion-Polk Food Share Youth Farm is a small farm in Salem, Oregon, which teaches youth life skills while growing food using organic practices. Many of the youth in CEI have experience working at this farm, and CEI projects often involve the farm. For more information, visit their website

Wildcat Ridge Sanctuary​

Wildcat Ridge Sanctuary is a non-profit sanctuary for injured wildcats in Oregon. A current CEI Oregon project is based around restoring the land in this sanctuary through the removal of invasive species and the planting of native species

OSU Extension​

For about 20 years, Caretakers youth were introduced to their environment through OSU Extension’s Youth Enviro Squad. This partnership ended in late 2018 following the retirement of Dan Hoynacki. Extension may be continuing some environmental education on their own but opted to no longer be affiliated with Caretakers of the Environment.​
