Amenities/Services
ROOM OPTIONS
Room options for most delegates, youth and adult, will be in a double-occupancy dormitory style room in Ackerman Hall. For an extra fee of $40, single-occupancy rooms are available, though limited in availability. The dormitory is built with environmental sustainability in mind and is well suited for the conference. Please keep in mind that you will be assigned rooms and may not be able to choose exactly locations. Click on the following link to learn more about Ackerman Hall and it's amenities.
Cedar Hall: Adults only, we have an option for four adults per unit in single rooms, with two adults sharing one bathroom. The four adults would share a limited kitchen and living area (additional $100 7-night fee per person).
FOOD
Western Oregon University will offer us access to Valsetz Dining Hall. Valsetz has many options and food choices for our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Check out the menu to see what is available. When we leave the conference site for field trips, other food options will be offered. We always hope to offer a variety of foods to satisfy all individuals. Be sure to let us know when you register if you have any dietary requirements.
OTHER SERVICES
Western Oregon University is a park-like campus with many beautiful outdoor features. The campus offers a wide variety of services to make your stay even more enjoyable. Here are some links to resources we will have available during the conference:
-
Housing Amenities
-
Werner University Center
-
Conference Recreation
Note: These services are not open to general use and we will coordinate use as outlined in the conference schedule. CEI 2017 Delegates will not have free use access to these services.

Travel Tips
Portland International Airport (PDX) is the closest airport to the CEI 2017 Conference location and has several direct flights from Europe and Asia. However, we are seeing good rates using Air Canada or other international carriers flying to Vancouver, British Columbia (YVR). YVR is an easy connection to PDX.
Though we will try to provide transportation to most groups flying in to Portland International Airport (PDX), we will have a limited schedule of transportation. For groups traveling at odd hours, we recommend using the HUT Shuttle, which connects PDX to Salem. If you choose to use the HUT Shuttle, please let us know so we can arrange transportation from the Salem drop-off location to the Conference location.
